Dr. Dwight Roblyer ‘84 is an instructional associate professor in the Department of Political Science and has taught over 20,000 young Aggies since 2013, working for their success and preparing them to contribute to their future professions and communities. As an Aggie undergrad, Dr. Roblyer was a President’s Endowed Scholar and in the Corps of Cadets. He studied physics and psychology, graduating Cum Laude and commissioning into the U.S. Air Force. He served for 26 years in various assignments including satellite operations, politico-military wargaming, and more time back at TAMU to earn his Ph.D. in International Relations.
After his military retirement, he joined the faculty here, rediscovering his fondness for college undergraduates and his passion for teaching. Inside and outside the classroom, Dr. Roblyer focuses on his students and works to leverage his non-traditional background to enable them to embrace the tremendous potential of their college-level learning opportunities. Aggie students have named him as Campus Muster Speaker and as a namesake for both Fish Camp and T-Camp. He has also received the University Distinguished Achievement Award for Teaching from the Former Student Association, the Provost Academic Professional Track Faculty Teaching Excellence Award, the University Honors Director’s Award, the Partners in Learning Award of Excellence for Accountability, Climate, and Equity, and the Residence Life Honoring Excellence Award.
Dr. Roblyer is married and devoted to Dr. Kathy Roblyer. They have raised 7 children, including two Former Students, and are parenting again with two wonderful grandchildren (and future Aggies) at home.
