Bush School Outstanding Alumni Award

LIST OF PAST AWARD WINNERS

Each year the Bush School of Government and Public Service will award two Bush School Outstanding Alumni Awards. Awards will be presented to one outstanding alumni with a graduate degree (Masters’s or Ph.D.) and one outstanding alumni with an undergraduate degree (Political Science or International Studies). Candidates for the awards will be evaluated on their professional experience, service, and support of the Bush School and/or Texas A&M University. Nominators are encouraged to highlight in their responses how the candidate reflects the core values of Texas A&M University – excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect, and selfless service.

To be eligible for the award, nominees must have been graduated for a minimum of 5 years. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, May 2, 2025.

Nominations should be submitted through the online nomination form with the below three statements addressed. It is recommended to prepare answers in a document and paste them into the form upon final submission.

  1. Please share how the nominee has accomplished distinction through their career experiences in local, state, national, or international areas, and how their experience reflects positively on the Bush School or Texas A&M University.
  1. Please share how the nominee has made a continued effort and commitment to service to others. This may include participation in charitable/nonprofit organizations, military service, community, state, national or international endeavors.
  1. Please share how the nominee has been supportive of the Bush School.  This could be through engagement with faculty, staff, or students in areas that promote teaching, research, or service. This could include but is not limited to, development, assistance with internships/employment opportunities for students, capstone projects, or by participation in workshops/seminars sponsored by various entities within the school (i.e. department seminar talks, career and student services workshops, interview conference weekends, alumni panels, new student orientation, etc.).

The Outstanding Alumni Award recipients will be celebrated at a luncheon to be scheduled in the fall semester.  For questions regarding the Outstanding Alumni Award process, please contact Joy Monroe.
