About the Program
Established in 2016, the Potomac Summer Institute is a week-long educational experience for undergraduate students in Washington, DC, sponsored by the Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University. The 2020 session will be led by Dr. Brittany Perry in collaboration with Dr. Joe Ura. Students will interact with elected and appointed public officials, government staff members, lobbyists, journalists, and scholars to develop their understanding of applied politics in the nation’s capital. Participating students will receive credit for 3.0 hours for POLS 306.
Costs
The travel fee for the Potomac Summer Institute is $2,700. This includes airfare, lodging, and some meals. It does not include tuition, university fees, or other personal expenses.
Eligibility & Applications
The Potomac Summer Institute is open to all continuing students in good standing at Texas A&M. Interested students may obtain an application here, or in the political science advising office LASB 103. Space is limited, and students may only register for the program through the Department of Political Science.
