James Dongjin Kim is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Texas A&M University. His research interests are political violence and international security. Specifically, his dissertation examines how childhood wartime violence experiences shape people's national security policy preferences. Along with the dissertation, his broader research agenda includes nuclear security and military alliance. His work has been published in International Studies Quarterly, and he is invited to revise and resubmit at the Journal of Conflict Resolution. He received an M.A. in International Relations from Tsinghua University, China, and a B.A. in Political Science from Yonsei University, South Korea.
