Dr. Harvey J. Tucker joined the Political Science faculty in 1978. He has served as Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and as Associate Director and Interim Director of Graduate Studies at Texas A&M University.
Dr. Tucker’s research and teaching interests are in the fields of American Government and Public Administration. He is the author or coauthor of five books and one monograph, including The Texas Legislative Almanac 1999, The Texas Legislative Almanac 1997 and Professionals Versus the Public: Attitudes, Communication and Response in School Districts. He has published more than twenty-five articles in refereed journals on state politics, public finance and budgeting, and education policy. His most recent peer reviewed journal article, “Visualizing Timescape Issues in the Comparative Study of the American States,” will be published in Vol. 80 (3) 2014 of the International Review of Administrative Sciences, which will appear in late August 2014. An English version will be available on the Internet around March/April 2014. His most recent book is coauthored with Professor Normal R. Luttbeg, Comparing the States and Communities, 9th edition, 2013.
