The International Development and Economic Policy (IDEP) track equips students with the theories, practice and analytical skills necessary for careers in international affairs, international development and economic policy. This preparation includes understanding the deep racial, ethnic, gender and socioeconomic inequalities and injustices that exist across the globe and training students to participate in the promotion of equity and inclusion in their future careers. Courses in the IDEP track focus on a number of salient issues in international development, including migration, humanitarian aid, famine, disaster management, globalization, trade, women and security, governance, violent conflict and state-building. Students are expected to acquire the basic skills of economic analysis as well as broader analytical tools for understanding international and economic public policies.
