The MIP degree program is 30 total credit hours consisting of two required courses, five courses in one of two tracks, and three elective courses. The full degree can be completed in an 11-month period (three semesters). by taking four courses in the fall/spring semesters and two courses in an intensive format during the summer. Students have the option of taking two courses online for an additional fee.
Core Courses
All MIP students are required to take the following two core courses (6 credit hours), which will help enhance their foundational knowledge for international public service:
- INTA 606: International Politics in Theory and Practice (3 credit hours)
- INTA 608: Fundamentals of the Global Economy (3 credit hours)

Students choose to take five courses (15 credit hours) in one of the following tracks:
Free Elective Courses
To complement the program of study thus constructed, every MIP student selects three additional courses (9 credit hours) of electives to maximize their professional development. These courses can be any course offered in the Bush School or any graduate course offered elsewhere in the university.
