Student Government Association

The Bush School | Student Government Association

The Bush School Student Government Association (SGA) offers students an opportunity to serve their colleagues as leaders of activities, programs, and initiatives for the Bush School. With a three-branch system, SGA allows for student involvement as an elected class representative, as a member of the SGA president’s executive team, or as a member of the judiciary. SGA holds meetings twice a month, and every student who attends the Bush School is a member of SGA.

The Bush School’s Student Government Association committees share the mission by focusing on specific aspects of SGA’s goals and vision. Committees are created by the President and the Executive Board as needed.

The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee works to create a school that respects, nurtures, and celebrates diversity through education and promoting exposure to different cultures, belief systems, and values.

The Social & Traditions Committee provides a venue for socialization and strengthens the collaborative environment at the Bush School by planning events and activities that encourage social interaction and peer networking. Additionally, this committee provides an opportunity for the Bush School community to learn and participate in the rich traditions at Texas A&M.

The International Connection Committee serves the Bush School by creating opportunities for international and domestic students to connect. The committee does this through both social and educational events. The hope is to create unity within the Bush School and to make international students feel welcome.

The Graduation Committee functions as a liaison between the administration and the students in planning the Bush School graduation celebration and in preparing students for the Texas A&M graduation ceremony.

The Fundraising & Merchandise Committee is the primary source of fund creation for SGA, through the creation and selling of merchandise.

The Athletic Committee aims to provide students with opportunities to exercise, relieve stress, and build relationships through sport. The committee chairs are responsible for coordinating all First-Year versus Second-Year events, intramurals, city league softball, and the Annual Dillo Cup.

The Tailgate Committee is responsible for organizing the ticket pull for all home football games as well as set-up and tear down of the Bush School’s tailgate in Spence Park next to Kyle Field.

The Green Committee is responsible for implementing the Aggie Green Grant and helping to make the Bush School a greener, more sustainable community.
