Dr. Ann‐Sofie Dahl is a Swedish Associate Professor of International Relations and an Adjunct Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Washington, D.C. She has been a resident of Copenhagen, Denmark, since 2003.
She has previously held research positions at the Centre for Military Studies (Copenhagen), the Swedish Institute for International Affairs and the Swedish National Defense College (Stockholm), Georgetown University, Princeton University, and other research institutions. Dr. Dahl was a Visiting Fellow at the NATO Defense College in Rome in 2012.
She is also the founder of the Swedish Atlantic Council and a former Vice President of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA).
Among her latest publications are Baltic Sea Security – How can allies and partners meet the new challenges in the region? (editor, Copenhagen: Centre for Military Studies, 2016), NORDEFCO and NATO: Smart Defense” in the North? (Rome: NATO Defense College, 2014), and Northern Security and Global Politics (co‐editor with Pauli Järvenpää, London: Routledge, 2013). Dr. Dahl´s research interests include NATO and transatlantic relations, Swedish and Danish foreign and security policy, and Nordic‐Baltic security.
