Lieutenant Colonel Tony B. Fears is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from the Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts degree in organizational management. He received his commission through Officer Candidate School with the Texas Army National Guard and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps in 2003. Lieutenant Colonel Fears recently served as the 949th Brigade Support Battalion Commander and the Surface Maintenance Manager for the Texas Army National Guard J-4.
His previous assignments include Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) Synchronization Staff Officer at HQDA G-8, Force Development Directorate Logistics Division; Program Manager and Operations Officer for the Office of the Army National Guard Chief of Staff; Executive Officer for the Army National Guard G-4; and commander of HHC, 536th Brigade Support Battalion. His operational assignments include Commander of Afghanistan Security Force Advisory Team 57 and NATO Kosovo Force. Lieutenant Colonel Fears is a graduate of the Army Force Management Course, the Army Command and General Staff College, the Support Operations Course, and the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course. He earned a master’s degree in supply chain management (logistics) from Ashford University and the Department of Defense Financial Management Level-3 Certification.
Lieutenant Colonel Fears’ military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5 OLC), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (Silver OLC), National Defense Service Medal (Bronze Star), Kosovo Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (M-Device), NATO Kosovo Medal, and the Army Staff Identification Badge. Lieutenant Colonel Fears is engaged to Tennille Scott , and they share three children—Jaalen, Raina, and Chrystopher.
