The Center for Nonprofits & Philanthropy (CNP) at Texas A&M University is excited to announce the Nonprofit BRIDGE Conference, set to take place on February 26 & 27, 2024, at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center. Sponsored by Bank of America, this event brings together nonprofit, academic, and community leaders from across Texas in a collective effort to Build Relationships, Innovate, Discover, and Get Engaged.
The BRIDGE Conference will serve as a platform to showcase and strengthen existing cross-sector collaborations between nonprofit organizations and university scholars actively engaged in applied projects within their communities. Highlighted partnerships include The OneStar Foundation and CNP working together to provide a Nonprofit Career Development Certificate for AmeriCorps members. Another featured partnership is the collaborative effort between The University of Texas at Dallas and Fairview Youth Foundation to provide educational opportunities and CONNECT Fellowships that support local organizations. By showcasing these partnerships, the conference seeks to drive social change and empower leaders to develop innovative solutions to the pressing challenges facing communities across Texas.
This conference will inspire stakeholders to provide tangible solutions by facilitating connections, building relationships that advance community-based solutions, and exploring data resources that inform decision-making, to raise the reputation of the nonprofit sector. Attendees will have the opportunity to build essential skills, network with like-minded individuals, and share ideas that can propel positive transformations in their communities.
The conference will include a full day of programming on February 27th, including presentations from several university and nonprofit collaboratives, roundtables, interest groups
on pressing topics facing the sector, and breakout sessions to dive deeper into collaborative work between sectors. A welcome reception will be held on the evening of February 26th. Co-conference organizer, Dr. Kenneth Anderson Taylor said, “Nonprofit organizations and academic institutions working together is not uncommon, but, I believe there is a gap in profiling and showcasing what these institutions are accomplishing together in their respective communities. Our BRIDGE conference is the first of its kind in Texas. We hope many will join us to better understand the intricacies of these partnerships and to celebrate all the individuals doing the work. Together, we can create a powerful force for heightened positive change.”
