The Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs will host Lt. Gen. John F. Mulholland, Jr., Commanding General for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, for the William and Dianne Moss Scowcroft Lecture Series. The program is scheduled for September 13, 2010, at 5:30 pm at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center at the George Bush Presidential Library Center.
Lt. Gen. John F. Mulholland Jr. assumed command of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command November 7, 2008. Prior to assuming that command, Mulholland was commanding general of Special Operations Command Central at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
Mulholland graduated with a BA in history from Furman University, Greenville, S.C., in 1978, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry. He earned a MMAS (History) while attending the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College.
Lt. Gen. Mulholland’s military awards and decorations include the Distinguished Superior Service Medal and the Legion of Merit.
The William and Dianne Moss Scowcroft Lecture Series brings to the George Bush Presidential Library Center and the campus of Texas A&M University high profile practitioners and experts in the field of international affairs. In addition, it presents students the opportunity to build on their classroom experience through interaction with experts and others who shape international events.
