CGS’s primary mission is to assess the first principles behind American grand strategy. By grand strategy we mean a nation’s overarching framework for pursuing its interests abroad. Within a university setting and away from Washington, DC, CGS provides an ideal forum to question the prevailing wisdom and broaden the debate beyond primacy.
