A new online graduate certificate program in public management is being offered at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
The program focuses on the capabilities required for effective and ethical leadership in the public and nonprofit sectors. Certificate courses will be offered online, on-campus, or in a combination of both formats for full- time professionals, graduate students, and aspiring public servants.
“The graduate Certificate in Public Management is an outstanding addition to the resume of anyone working or endeavoring to work in a public service or public management career,” Bush School Dean Mark Welsh said.
The 12-credit certificate program will provide graduate-level coursework taught by the Bush School’s nationally and internationally acclaimed faculty members. All certificate students will enroll in two required courses, Budgeting in Public Service and Public Management, as well as two elective courses in their specified field of interest. Elective courses range from urban sustainability policy to cybersecurity to public information systems management. The culmination of the program will result in prepared state and federal leaders with the requisite skills and expertise in public service to excel in professional and executive management roles.
