COLLEGE STATION, TX (October 6, 2023) – A steep rise in Organized Retail Crime (ORC) activity is concerning both because it burdens the economy and threatens the safety of customers and employees. A new issue of The Takeaway explores parallels between the challenges posed by ORC and by armed conflict. The article also reviews current legislation aimed at addressing ORC and offers additional Operations and Supply Chain Management solutions learned in war-torn areas. Jola-Sanchez, is an Assistant Professor of Information and Operations Management at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University and a Mosbacher Research Fellow. His research explores war and urban crisis in the field of operations and supply chain management.
