The Institute for Science, Technology and Public Policy is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Hyunseok (H. S.) Hwang to our staff. As an assistant research scientist, Dr. Hwang will expand the Institute’s research in the areas of organizational theory, environmental sociology, community resilience, philanthropic studies, and social entrepreneurship. His research focuses on the nexus of organization theory and environmental sociology, with an overarching theme of identifying how community-based organizations respond to institutional heterogeneity, grand societal challenges (i.e., massive social environmental issues), and challenges to organizational sustainability.
Dr. Hwang received his PhD in sociology from Texas A&M University, his master’s in public administration from the Bush School at Texas A&M, and his bachelor’s degree in public administration from Kyonggi University in South Korea.
