
Dr. Michelle Chin-Miller joined the Bush School in August 2025. She was the inaugural academic director for the Archer Center at The University of Texas System (2016-2025), and a clinical associate professor in the Hobson Wildenthal Honors College at The University of Texas at Dallas (2014-2025). Previously, she was senior researcher and policy analyst at the Learning Policy Institute. She is also a former congressional staffer, working for more than eight years as an education policy advisor for U.S. Senator John Cornyn of Texas, and for four years as a policy advisor for U.S. Representative Joe Barton of Texas (retired). She was assistant professor of Political Science at Arizona State University (2001-2007) and served as program director of the Arizona State University Capitol Scholars Program (2003-2004). Dr. Chin earned a Ph.D. and an M.A. in political science from Texas A&M University. She has a B.S. in political economy from Andrews University. Her research has been published in Journal of Politics, American Politics Research, and Electoral Studies.
