
Dr. Jares is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science. His research examines how economic interests and ideology shape American politics and public policy. In one ongoing line of work, he leverages survey experiments, large-scale administrative data, and machine learning to examine the political determinants and consequences of modern US farm policy. His research has been published in the American Political Science Review. Dr. Jares received his PhD in political economics from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and he was previously a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
