
Weijie Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Service & Administration at the Bush School. Before joining the Bush School, he taught at the Truman School of Government and Public Affairs at the University of Missouri and State University of New York at Brockport. He earned his Ph.D. in Policy, Planning, and Development (Public Management track) from the Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California.
His research centers on performance management, personnel management, and interorganizational collaboration. In recent years, he has employed quasi-experimental methods to examine how performance signals influence managerial strategies as well as the attitudes and behaviors of both citizens and public employees. His scholarship has appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, and Public Administration Review. Dr. Wang has been recognized for his scholarly contributions with several prestigious honors, including the 2014 Staats Emerging Scholar Award from the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) and the 2024 Herbert Kaufman Best Paper Award from the Public Administration Section of the American Political Science Association.
