Amanda Mui, MPH is the Assistant Director of the Biosecurity and Pandemic Policy Center within the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs. She is a public health preparedness expert specializing in biosecurity, biodefense, and pandemic preparedness and response. She leads policy and analytical research focused on preventing and mitigating large-scale biological threats, whether accidental, deliberate, or naturally occurring.

Her career has taken her both domestically and internationally, including serving as an expert panelist at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, where she presented on biosecurity matters to delegations of States Parties. She has also engaged with policymakers in Washington, DC on matters related to health and national security.

Amanda previously served as Program Director for the Johns Hopkins Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Initiative (ELBI) Fellowship, a program that unites biosecurity professionals worldwide from diverse backgrounds to engage on key issues shaping the field. In addition to her policy and programmatic expertise, Amanda has a background in laboratory research, including work at the CDC's Parasitology Division in Atlanta, Georgia.

She earned her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bucknell University.
