ACADEMIC ADVISING

Whether you’re looking for academic advice or help navigating Texas A&M University services, academic advising is your first stop for personalized assistance. All students are required to meet with the Bush School DC academic advisor at least once each semester, prior to registering for the upcoming semester or for graduation. To schedule an advising appointment, go to Howdy and click on the EAB Navigate icon.
REGISTRATION

The Academic Affairs department facilitates Registration Workshops once each semester. Workshops are designed to encourage student engagement with the registration process and collaboration with peers. During workshops, students register for upcoming semester course work. Prior to registering, do the following:
- Check for Registration Holds & Resolve Them
- Common Registration Holds Listed Here
- Complete the Location Update
- Accept Terms of Use
- Review Registration Tutorial Videos & Guides in your Howdy portal (Click on the ‘My Record’ tab – Go to the ‘Student Tutorials & FAQs’ section – Click on ‘Registration Tutorials’)

MNSI LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

Prior to graduation, all Master’s in National Security and Intelligence students must pass a required foreign language assessment. Bush School DC has partnered with the International Language Institute in Washington, D.C. to offer tuition-free, professional tutoring.

Howdy Portal
Howdy is a web portal at Texas A&M that helps students, applicants, faculty, and staff more easily connect to university records and resources. Howdy incorporates everything from paying tuition bills, to registering for classes, to viewing grades and unofficial transcripts, to applying for graduation
Degree Plan Document Processing Submission System
All students must complete a degree plan in the Document Processing Submission System (DPSS). Click here for a how-to tutorial. Schedule an advising appointment in EAB Navigate for degree plan assistance.
Proof of Enrollment
Self-service enrollment verification is available to all Texas A&M students. The National Student Clearinghouse is a contracted agent of Texas A&M University and an Authorized Certifying School Official for providing certificates of enrollment verification for insurance purposes, military I.D. cards, student loans, etc. This program is offered at no cost through the National Student Clearinghouse in cooperation with Texas A&M University and is accessible 24 hours per day, seven days per week, including holidays, for immediate assistance.
Military Benefits
Texas A&M University has served student veterans through Military Education Benefits since 1919 and is a national leader in service to our students who are veterans, active duty, military dependents and survivors. We are committed to providing the best possible educational experience and service to all that attend our university and are proud to have eight Medal of Honor recipients among our Aggie Former Students. The Military Admissions Office, Aggie One Stop, Scholarships & Financial Aid, Student Business Services, and the Don & Ellie Knauss Veteran Resource & Support Center partner to fully support our military affiliated students.
International Student and Scholar Services
Texas A&M University International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) supports international students, scholars, and their families as they navigate the U.S. immigration system and life in the U.S. They educate on policies and regulations and provide programs to enhance the Texas A&M international community experience.
University Writing Center
The University Writing Center (UWC) has several online programs specifically for graduate students. Below are titles of each program and how you might most benefit from them.

- Conversation Appointments: 45-minute speaking practice on topics of your choice, for practice, daily course work, or capstone
