The Bush School of Government and Public Service is among the nation’s top Public Affairs graduate schools, according to newly released rankings by U.S. News & World Report. The publication released its 2025 rankings last week, naming the Bush School 26th in the nation among Public Affairs graduate school programs.
“The Bush School continues to make strides as a world-class Public Affairs school,” said Frank B. Ashley III, interim dean of the Bush School. “Employers know that graduates of our Public Service and Administration program are career-ready leaders with a passion for public service.”
Bush School students complete a rigorous course load to prepare them for top-level careers in the public service sector, including city and county governance, homeland security, and nonprofit management. The Master of Public Service and Administration degree program boasts a 95 percent graduation rate and regularly places more than 80 percent of those graduates in public service jobs within six months of graduation. Recent graduates have found careers at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the U.S. Department of Justice, The Clinton Foundation, and the City of Sugar Land, just to name a few. Bush School graduates are also among the staff of many state and federal legislators.
“I am so pleased to hear that our peers have once again recognized the amazing work of the Bush School’s faculty, staff, students, and alumni,” said Dr. Lori Taylor, head of the Public Service and Administration department.
The PSAA department also offers four new undergraduate minors. These minors include Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Nonprofit Studies, Public Management and Public Policy Analysis.
Named for President George H.W. Bush, the 26-year-old Bush School also ranked #21 in Nonprofit Management and in Public Management and Leadership. Based in College Station, Texas, with a teaching site located in Washington, D.C. known as “the Bush School DC,” the Bush School offers graduate-level degree and certificate programs in the fields of Public Service and Administration, International Affairs, Homeland Security, and Political Science. It also offers undergraduate degree programs in Political Science and International Affairs.
