Baylor University President Ken Starr, who served for four years as United States Solicitor General earlier in his career, will speak on “The Global Century and the Future of the Rule of Law” Feb. 18 at Texas A&M University. Starr’s 6 p.m. presentation at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center will be hosted by the Bush School of Government and Public Service.
The lecture will be open to the public, but seating will be limited and RSVPs are requested by planners of the event.
Starr has a long and distinguished career in law and public service. He was appointed the 39th United States Solicitor General by George Bush, 41st President, and served in that role from 1989 to 1993.
After leaving government, Starr returned to private practice as an appellate lawyer and a visiting professor at New York University and the George Mason University School of Law. In 2004, he was appointed dean of the Pepperdine University School of Law, where he served until being named president of Baylor last year.
