The MPSA Career Landscape

Public Service, Close to Home and Across the Country

MPSA graduates predominantly enter government and the nonprofit sector. In 2025, the largest share went into state government, followed by nonprofit and NGO organizations and local government. The MPSA prepares graduates for the work of public administration where it most directly touches communities — in statehouses, city governments, and mission-driven organizations.

A Consistent Pattern Over Five Years

The MPSA’s outcomes are stable year over year. State government, local government, and the nonprofit sector have consistently been the largest destinations for graduates, reflecting both the program’s focus and the enduring demand for skilled public administrators across these sectors.

The Bush School taught me skills that have been incredibly useful and transferable throughout my career working in and for local government. I’m proud to be connected to a university that offers incredible networking opportunities and lifelong support.

In Their Words

The skills I developed in the MPSA and from my internship continue to drive my philanthropy work today. I truly understand the importance of good donor stewardship and data hygiene. Additionally, I can quickly analyze the landscape of a fundraising shop and develop a plan to strategically use my time to raise additional funds. In my short career, I have already raised over $5 million, and lots of my success comes from the foundation I received at the Bush School at Texas A&M University.
