Allan Marshall Named New Chief Development Officer for Bush School of Government and Public Service
Marshall brings nearly two decades of experience in education-focused philanthropy and nonprofit leadership.
The Texas A&M Foundation has hired Allan Marshall, MEd CFRM, as the new chief development officer for the Bush School of Government and Public Service. In this role, effective October 21, he will lead its development team and oversee philanthropy and strategic partnerships for the Bush School’s campuses in College Station and Washington, D.C.
Marshall will work closely with the school’s senior leadership, faculty, staff and students to help shape and implement advancement goals for academic programs, scholarships and other key priorities to support the school’s vision and build a culture of philanthropy across both campuses.

Marshall joins the Foundation with nearly two decades of experience in education-focused philanthropy and nonprofit leadership, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the Bush School as it continues to grow its philanthropic support. He has raised millions through roles in higher education institutions and at nonprofit organizations.
Among his proudest accomplishments was serving as chief development officer at the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, where he led fundraising efforts in support of literacy programs tied to the legacy of former First Lady Barbara Bush. There, he created a comprehensive development strategy spanning legacy, major, annual and corporate giving, and helped launch the foundation’s first annual giving week and a thank-a-thon. Having worked with the Bush family, Marshall is excited to support their legacy through his work at the Bush School.

About Allan
A native of Cuney, Texas, Marshall earned his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in 2007, majoring in political science and minoring in journalism-public relations and religion. During his time at Baylor, he was elected student body external vice president and was recognized by the City of Waco with a proclamation for championing student body participation and civic engagement. Marshall went on to complete a Master of Education at Dallas Baptist University in 2012, followed by a certificate in fund raising management from Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in 2023, where he teaches the next generation of fundraisers across the country as an adjunct faculty member.
Outside of his professional life, he and his wife, Amy, have a son, Lincoln. He and Lincoln have a goal to visit as many college stadiums and soak in as many game day experiences as they can together. He collects vinyl records and quirky socks and has a particular interest in visiting presidential museums and libraries. He also works as an adjunct consultant for Johnson, Grossnickle and Associates, a consulting firm that advises organizations and institutions.
