CGS’s primary mission is to assess the first principles behind American grand strategy. By grand strategy we mean a nation’s overarching framework for pursuing its interests abroad. Within a university setting and away from Washington, DC, CGS provides an ideal forum to question the prevailing wisdom and broaden the debate beyond primacy.

Certificate in National Security
An executive-level graduate education program tailored to the needs of the Department of Energy (DOE) National Security Laboratories and Facilities. This program is administered through the Albritton Center for Grand Strategy.

Students have the opportunity to join CGS as affiliates during their time at the Bush School. CGS student affiliates:

- Participate in CGS programming
First-year affiliates who distinguish themselves through their engagement with CGS are eligible for summer internship support. CGS also takes on one second-year student as a graduate assistant.
