A Message From The Dean
The last decade has been an exciting time of growth and progress for the Bush School. We’ve seen tremendous growth in our student population, new degree and programmatic offerings, and corresponding growth in the size of our faculty.
These positive changes meant that, in many ways, we’d outgrown our space in the Allen Building. That led us to begin looking for new space to accommodate current staffing and operations, and to give us the opportunity to continue to grow in ways that benefit the college.
In January, the Departments of Political Science and Economics moved from the Allen building to new locations on campus, providing us with an exciting opportunity to grow into that space without having to expand outside of the Allen Building. During the spring 2020 semester, we started a remodeling project on the first and second floors of the building. This project includes the creation of dedicated student research space, two new large study areas, new classrooms and conference rooms, and additional office space, as well as Bush School branding of these new spaces.
The renovation will provide students with much needed meeting and study space and also provides a new student workroom, faculty and student breakrooms, and a mail room dedicated to student use. New conference rooms will provide space for meetings, study groups, and projects. The remodel also creates dedicated space for all of the Bush School Centers and Institutes. The anticipated completion date is August 2020, in time for the fall semester.
Included here are photos of the architectural renderings for the new space as well as actual photos of the demolition and new construction. We will continue to add to them as the project moves to completion.
We hope you’re as excited as we are about this incredible opportunity, and we thank you for your continued support and interest in the Bush School!
