Welcome to the Public Service and Administration Department! We are excited that you are interested in learning more about our Department and the programs we offer.
The Public Service and Administration Department delivers the Master of Public Service and Administration degree in two modalities – a full-time in-residence version (MPSA) and an executive online version (EMPSA). We also offer graduate certificates in Homeland Security, Nonprofit Management and Public Management.
The MPSA ranks among the top programs of public affairs in the country. The renowned faculty is accomplished and distinguished. The student-faculty ratio is outstanding, creating a small, close-knit learning community situated in a beautiful setting with world-class facilities. MPSA students learn by doing as well as by studying – participating in summer internships, volunteering through our Public Service Organization, and completing a year-long capstone project for real-world clients. The MPSA is among the most affordable programs of its quality in the entire nation. We provide some level of financial support to all students—with top-level awards exceeding $15,000 annually—and all students are eligible for in-state tuition.
The EMPSA delivers high-quality and high-impact coursework for individuals who continue to pursue their full-time professional careers while further developing in-depth, advanced skills in public service leadership, decision making, and critical investigative and evaluative methods within the public sector. Degree program applicants must have at least five years of professional experience. Two years supervisory or management experience is preferred. The entire program can be completed online, or as a mix of online and in-person classes.
I invite you to explore this website to learn more about any of our programs. I’d be glad to discuss them with you and talk about the opportunities you might find here.
All the best,
