Spencer Goidel is a Ph.D. candidate in the department of Political Science at Texas A&M. His interests include public opinion, voter behavior, and political communication. Specifically, his research looks at how political institutions, objective conditions, the media, and communication technologies shape the behaviors and attitudes of American voters.
He has published on these topics in Public Opinion Quarterly, Research & Politics, and PS: Political Science & Politics. Spencer's dissertation investigates the negative consequences of choice overload in U.S. elections. He received funding for this research from the Rapoport Family Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Survey Research Grant, and he is a 2022 Glasscock Summer Research Fellow. Spencer is currently working on completing his dissertation by May 2023.
