Matthew Fuhrmann is an associate professor of political science at Texas A&M University. He was named an Andrew Carnegie Fellow in 2016 by the Carnegie Corporation of New York. During the 2016-17 academic year, he is a visiting associate professor at Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation. His research focuses on international relations, military power, nuclear proliferation, and armed conflict. He is the author of Atomic Assistance: How “Atoms for Peace” Programs Cause Nuclear Insecurity (2012) and the co-author of Nuclear Weapons and Coercive Diplomacy (2017). He is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
