The Center for Nonprofits & Philanthropy (CNP) at the Bush School of Government & Public Service recently held a webinar titled Igniting Success: The Collaborative Power of Nonprofit Leaders. Moderated by Dr. Will Brown, the webinar invited three experienced nonprofit leaders to share their insights: Jennifer Bartkowski from Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, Roxanne Saldaña Jones from United Ways of Texas, and Dr. Kelly Zùñiga from Kelly Zùñiga Consulting.
The panel discussion highlighted key considerations for nonprofit organizations, such as fostering strong relationships, engaging in advocacy, and the importance of succession planning. The panelists stressed the importance of authentic connections and open communication because of their ability to demonstrate value and impact to engage and retain supporters. The discussion also shed light on the need for nonprofit leaders to embrace advocacy, viewing it as a critical tool for effecting systemic change and building community support. Lastly, the conversation touched upon the need for succession planning, highlighting the significance of preparing for organizational transitions and ensuring continuity in leadership and vision.
Panelists shared practical insights and personal anecdotes to emphasize the importance of embracing advocacy, collaborating, and building meaningful communications with donors and their community. These pillars of nonprofit leadership aid an organization’s ability to advance the mission and impact in today’s ever-evolving landscape.
