
Exports have contributed to rising incomes and falling poverty around the world, but for Egypt, rising exports have not translated into better outcomes for workers, which posed an interesting research question for Dr. Raymond Robertson, an economist at the Bush School of Government & Public Service and Director of the Mosbacher Institute. In the latest issue of The Takeaway, “Broken Link: Egypt’s Trade Policy and Local Labor Market Outcomes,” Robertson describes some of the surprising results from his work.
