Locky Catron, a second-year student in the Master of International Affairs program at the Texas A&M Bush School of Government and Public Service, has been awarded one of two scholarships from the Women in International Trade (WIIT) organization.

The Association of Women in International Trade (WIIT) is based in Washington, DC, and works to promote the professional development of women in international trade and business and to raise public awareness of the importance of international trade to economic development.

Locky’s academic focus is international development and economic policy. She received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from Iowa State University. In addition to her academic studies, Locky helped launch a start-up company that developed an open-source tractor for small-scale farmers in the US and abroad. She was also a Writing Fellow for the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative at Iowa State University.

Bush School Dean Mark Welsh noted Locky’s honor with the following message: “Congratulations Locky!!  We’re all proud of you, and happy to see your outstanding work recognized by WIIT.”
