The next time you’re out at the Allen Building, you’ll find things looking a little different.

Over the summer, each of the primary classroom spaces on the first floor received a refresh, highlighted by new seating and furniture. The recently remodeled Allen Building now offers students a brighter, more functional learning environment designed around their academic needs. Guided by student surveys, the renovation prioritized modern study spaces, enhanced classroom technology, and collaborative areas that foster group work and discussion. By aligning the classroom layout with student feedback, the remodel ensures that the Allen Building continues to serve as a premiere academic space, especially for students in the Department of Political Science.
These classroom renovations join existing expansive renovations of the students spaces on the first and second floors of the Allen Building. The Bush School continues to be forward thinking about how its students connect, learn, work together, and the physical space of the building can be imagined and engineered to meet those needs.

Looking ahead, the Allen Building will continue to evolve. Conversations are underway for an expansion that will add new instructional and gathering spaces, further enhancing the student experience. A hallmark of this future expansion will be gathering and study spaces dedicated for undergraduates: alleviating the need for groups to meet at libraries or even off-campus. This next phase reflects the Bush School’s commitment to anticipating student needs and ensuring that its facilities grow alongside its mission of preparing future leaders in public service.
