Regina Thompson

Dr. Regina Thompson is an executive with 30+ years of experience, including 20 years leading mission-critical intelligence, investigative, and crisis management programs at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). In addition to working counterterrorism, counterintelligence, public corruption, violent crime, and human intelligence programs, she served on the SWAT team’s forward deployed tactical operations center. After becoming an executive in 2016, she served as an Inspector, Deputy Assistant Director of the Criminal Investigative Division, and finished her FBI career as an Assistant Director. She was responsible for engagement with the White House, Congress, Department of Justice, intelligence community partners, private sector companies, and the public, and was awarded the Presidential Rank Award in 2021. Dr. Thompson is currently Senior Director of Global Security at GE Aerospace and leads the company’s Aerospace Global Intelligence Center.

Dr. Thompson holds a doctorate from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree from Ohio State University (OSU) in Clinical Counseling, as well as two bachelor’s degrees in Chinese Language and Criminology also from OSU. Dr. Thompson also completed Middlebury College’s intensive Chinese language immersion program. Prior to entering on duty with the FBI, Dr. Thompson worked for OSU authoring and editing Chinese textbooks and was a program manager and instructor for the university’s Institute for Chinese Studies.
