Spend a day with our faculty, students, alumni and future classmates to help you decide if the Bush School is the right fit. Admitted students who cannot attend in person may join online.

About Admitted Student Day
Friday, February 26 and/or Saturday, February 27, 2027Graduate school is an investment in your future, and choosing the right school is the foundation of that decision. You can learn a lot about us online, but it is not the same as a personal welcome and visit. That is why we host Admitted Student Day, and why we will reimburse part of your travel expenses to be here. Year after year, students tell us their visit is what sealed the deal in accepting their offer, whether it was the enthusiasm of their future classmates or the passion of our faculty. If you can join us, it is worth the trip.
What to Expect
Admitted Student Day is built to help you picture yourself here.Most of our International Affairs faculty attend, and you will spend the day connecting with the people who shape your experience. We are looking to include a mock class, a tour of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, and a tour of the TAMU campus with student leaders on Saturday. This is in addition to key Friday activities:
- Small group discussions with faculty in your areas of interest
- A tour of the Bush School
- Conversations with current and former students
- Alumni and student panels
- Resources provided by student and career services
- Student organization interactions and ways to get involved
- Meeting your future classmates
Who is Invited?
Admitted Student Day is for applicants offered MIA admission in Round One or Round Two. They are encouraged to attend in person or online. Students offered admission in Round Three can request an individual visit at a later time, as the schedule allows. If you think you will want to visit before deciding, make every effort to apply by the Round One or Round Two deadline. Deadlines are listed on the MIA admissions page.
Planning Your Visit
Whom will I interact with? You receive a personalized schedule with your faculty discussions at check-in.
Most International Affairs faculty attend Admitted Student Day. At Friday check-in, you will receive a personalized schedule listing one to two faculty members you are matched with for small group discussion. To prepare, review faculty bios in the MIA faculty directory.
What should I wear? Business professional, and comfortable enough for a full day.
Dress is business professional. It is a full day, so wear something you can be comfortable in throughout.
When will I receive the agenda? A full agenda arrives shortly before the event.
A detailed agenda is sent to registered attendees before the event. Plan for a morning check-in and a full day or two of activities.
Cost & Travel
Attendees are responsible for their own lodging and travel, but we will provide a web page of hotel suggestions and other travel guidance. These include host hotels with locked-in rates and at least one hotel-to-school shuttle.
To help offset costs, The Bush School reimburses between 25-50% of travel expenses for admitted students who travel more than 80 miles roundtrip, with receipts and/or mileage required. Lunch and dinner are provided on Friday, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Meals taken at your hotel and while traveling are not reimbursed.
Admitted students receive full registration, travel, and reimbursement details, including the required registration form, when they are invited.
After Your Visit
Admitted students have until April 15 to accept or decline their offer of admission and funding, following the instructions in their offer letter.
