Admissions Timeline for MPSA

The Bush School admits students once per year, for fall entry only. Plan to apply a year out. The application cycle begins in early August with a priority deadline in mid-December and a final deadline in mid-January. Completed applications are reviewed by the MPSA Admissions Committee in late January to determine who will be invited to interview during the second stage of the admissions process. Those selected for an interview will be notified in late January/early February, with interviews to be completed soon after. Once applicants have all been interviewed, the Admissions and Scholarship Committees meet in late February or early March to make final admissions decisions and award scholarships. Final admissions decisions are made by mid-March for a late August start. These decisions are emailed to applicants no later than March 15. Applicants have until April 15 to accept or decline their admission offer.

We will update our website after the final deadline to indicate if we are accepting late applications on a space-available basis. Most major financial offers are made in March, so applications accepted after the final deadline are still considered for any available Bush School merit aid.

Timeline Overview:

  • Early August: Fall 2023 application opens!
  • August 2022 – January 2023 (and maybe later):
    • Applications and supporting materials are collected, processed and evaluated for completion.
    • Bush School Admissions Office emails applicants status updates on their application, including any missing items and/or when their application is complete/ready for review.
    • Applicants are responsible for monitoring the status of their recommendations to ensure all are submitted and received by the Bush School Admissions Office no later than the application deadline.
  • December 15, 2022: Priority Funding Application Deadline
Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit all application materials, including recommendations and test scores (if applicable) by the priority funding deadline (as outlined on the Deadlines page) to ensure their application is considered for top funding awards. Applicants who submit and complete their application after the priority funding deadline, but on or before the final application deadline, are still considered for merit Bush School Scholarships. However, they may miss an opportunity to be nominated for other various funding awards.
  • January 11, 2023: Final Application Deadline
Applications still missing materials after the final deadline will NOT be reviewed or considered for admission. Ensure your application and all materials are submitted no later than this deadline.
  • January 12-30, 2023:
    • All completed applications (with all required materials submitted) are reviewed by the MPSA Admissions Committee.
    • Bush School Admissions Office emails all applicants with an invitation to interview or if their request for admission has been declined.
  • February 17-18, 2023: MPSA Interview Conference Weekend
    • Alternative interviews via Zoom are scheduled during the entire month of February for those who cannot attend Interview Conference Weekend.
  • Early March 2023: Admissions and Scholarship Committees make final admissions and funding decisions.
  • By March 15, 2023: Applicants are notified of admissions decisions and scholarship awards via email no later than March 15.
  • March 15 – April 15, 2023:
    • Applicants weigh their offers of admissions to decide which offer to accept.
  • By April 15, 2023: Reply Deadline: Applicants confirm if they accept or decline the Bush School’s offer of admission by submitting the Bush School’s Admissions Reply Form no later than April 15.

We are part of the Council of Graduate Schools’ April 15 Resolution. Applicants have until midnight April 15 to accept our financial offer. If we do not hear from the applicant in writing by that date, and we have not approved an extension in writing, then the financial offer will be rescinded at midnight. Applicants are under no obligation to accept our or any other school’s offer prior to April 15, but we would appreciate a notice as soon as an applicant has made their decision so we can redirect funds to other deserving applicants. Applicants may consider later offers of financial support from other schools, but to accept them, the applicant must first notify us and rescind their acceptance of our offer.

Upon Accepting the Bush School’s Offer of Admission:

  • Applicants confirm their acceptance of our offer with the Texas A&M Office of Graduate Admissions by logging into their applicant portal and formally accepting their admission.
  • Please allow 7-14 business days for the Bush School and the Texas A&M Office of Graduate Admissions work together to process and update the applicant’s record to that of an admitted student.
  • Meanwhile, the student should request their official transcripts from all 4-year colleges to be sent to Texas A&M University. Click here for instructions.
