This program is for current Texas A&M undergraduates in eligible majors who apply in the fall of their junior year. You apply through the 3+2 MPSA Internal Application, not GradCAS. Review the requirements below before you begin, since you must meet all of them to enroll.

Eligibility Requirements
You must satisfy all of these requirements before the fall semester you enter the MPSA. If you do not, an offer of admission to the 3+2 program will be revoked.To apply, you must be a current Texas A&M University (College Station) undergraduate applying in the fall of your junior year, or the fall when you are classified as U3, and you must meet all of the following:
- You are majoring in one of these at the time you apply: Political Science, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Sociology, or Rangeland, Wildlife & Fisheries Management.
- You have worked with your undergraduate advisor to map out the undergrad courses you must complete before and after entering the MPSA.
- You are on track to complete at least 102 credit hours of your undergraduate degree requirements by the start of the fall semester you enter the MPSA.
- You have, or can feasibly earn, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 by the start of the fall semester you enter the MPSA.
- You are in good academic standing with your undergraduate department.
- You are not expected to graduate or complete your undergraduate degree before the fall semester you enter the MPSA.
Application Requirements
Apply through the 3+2 MPSA Internal Application, a free Qualtrics form, not GradCAS. Upload your supporting materials to the application, and have your recommenders email their recommendations directly. Have your materials ready before you start.
Required 3+2 MPSA Internal Application Submit through the 3+2 MPSA Internal Application (NOT GraduateCAS); no application fee.
Apply by submitting a Fall 2027: 3+2 MPSA Internal Application. There is no application fee.
The application will ask you to provide your information, answer program-specific questions, and upload your supporting materials (resume, personal statement, 3+2 Course Planner, and GRE/GMAT test scores if desired).
We advise 3+2 MPSA applicants to have their supporting materials ready to upload before filling out and submitting the application.
Required Résumé Two pages maximum; activities after high school.
Upload a current résumé (two pages maximum) covering your activities since high school.
A Résumé Template is available for reference; your formatting need not match it, but include the listed content.
Required Personal Statement 750 words; your goals and public service experience.
Upload a statement of 750 words or less, in 11 pt font, 1.5 spacing, with your name, the title “Personal Statement,” and a page number on each page.
Prompt:
- your personal and professional goals for your intended career
- what inspired you to pursue a career in public service
- how earning the MPSA from the Bush School will help you achieve your goals
- your public service experience and the value you bring to the program
Required (2) Recommendations Two recommendations, emailed directly by your recommenders.
Two recommendations are required, each a Recommendation Form plus a letter. Fill out the top of the form and send it to your recommenders, who complete the bottom, write a letter (preferably on letterhead), and email both directly to bushschoolapplications@tamu.edu.
A higher-education academic reference is strongly encouraged for both recommendations; a professional reference is accepted if needed.
Start early, since both must arrive by the deadline.
Optional GRE/GMAT Test Scores Not required; recent average is 304.
Test scores are not required. They are encouraged for anyone who feels their scores complement a strong file or offset a concern. The Bush School prefers the GRE, and the recent average is 304. Scores must be within five years of your submission date.
Upload an unofficial score report to your 3+2 MPSA Internal Application; official scores are not required but may be sent to Texas A&M (GRE code 6003, GMAT code 7B7-K9-57).
Not required Transcripts The Bush School pulls your TAMU records; do not submit.
You do not submit a transcript. The Bush School downloads your Texas A&M transcript when you apply, after fall grades post, and again in early August, to confirm you completed your undergraduate requirements and met the GPA requirement before entering the MPSA.
Application Deadlines
The Bush School’s Master of Public Service & Administration (MPSA) operates on a rolling, space, and funding-available basis, meaning that applications are reviewed as they become complete, starting in mid-January. If you are seeking financial assistance, you are strongly encouraged to apply before the priority application deadline to be considered for top scholarships for your second year. Incomplete applications are not reviewed.

Start the 3+2 MPSA Internal ApplicationAfter Submitting Your Application
After you submit, allow 7 to 10 business days for processing, and longer from mid-December through mid-January. The Bush School Graduate Admissions Office emails you the official status of your application, Complete or Incomplete. If incomplete, it is your responsibility to submit the missing materials by the application deadline. The admissions process then runs in these steps:
- Those who submit a complete application by the priority application deadline will be notified by email in early-to-mid-January if they are invited to the next round of the admissions process (interviews). Those who apply after the priority deadline will be notified by email in late January if invited to interview.
- Applicants invited to interview must complete two interviews with faculty or staff to receive an admissions decision and funding award. Interviews take place during Interview Conference Weekend (February 19 & 20, 2027), or by Zoom in February for those who cannot attend.
- Interview Conference Weekend: February 19 & 20, 2027
- Final admissions decisions are emailed no later than March 15, with an offer letter and funding award for those admitted. You have until April 15 to accept or decline.
- After admission, the Bush School verifies your spring and summer grades to confirm you completed your undergraduate coursework and maintained the required GPA before you enter the MPSA.
Cost & Funding
Admitted 5-Year MPSA students are awarded a merit-based Bush School Scholarship during the graduate portion of the program.
