Public Service Organization

The Public Service Organization (PSO) is a student-led organization at the Bush School and has been recognized as an official Texas A&M University student organization. The PSO has been described as the "keeper of the flame" here at the Bush School because it brings students and faculty together to meet the needs of the community, state, country, and world through service projects.

These projects are administered by students and are an immediate way for Bush School students to improve the lives of others. Projects have included the coordination of public service activities and events, grant proposal writing, and the planning and evaluation of projects and services.

Funded by the Bush Presidential Library Foundation, the PSO Executive Board and dedicated project managers have raised money for UNICEF by Trick-or-Treating, read to students at the Carver Learning Center, and conducted leadership seminars with Bryan High School youth.

The PSO is also important to students' career preparation, providing them a chance to apply the knowledge and methods learned in their coursework to problems in the public sphere.
