Scowcroft Grant Takes Lindquist to U.K. for Collaboration on Climate Change and Regional Governance

March 22, 2010

Dr. Eric Lindquist, ISTPP associate director, recently traveled to the U.K. on a Scowcroft Faculty Travel Grant. The objective of this grant and the trip was to develop international collaborations and potential research opportunities on the issue of regional governance and adaptation to climate change. Lindquist visited with faculty and students at the Transport Studies Unit, University of Oxford, England, and at the Department of City and Regional Planning, Cardiff University, Wales. In addition to the collaboration discussions, Dr. Lindquist presented a seminar at each location, “The Role of Metropolitan Planning Organizations in Climate Change Adaptation Policy in the United States.” This research is derived from several ISTPP projects funded by the Southwest Region University Transportation Center (SWUTC), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and other sources.
