The paper “Detection and Selection Decisions with Conditional Feedback:  Interaction of Task Uncertainty and Base Rate” by Jeryl Mumpower and his colleagues Jim Holzworth, University of Connectictut, and Tom Stewart, University at Albany, SUNY, was recently accepted for publication in the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making.  This is the second paper from an NSF-supported research project that investigated human performance in challenging low-probability, high-consequence decision making contexts, such as passenger screening at TSA checkpoints in airports.
