IABC Houston Awards

The Bush School Office of Communications and External Relations continues to be recognized for its communications efforts adding three awards from the Houston chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). The office received three Bronze Quill Awards: an Award of Excellence (the highest in its category) for the office’s role in promoting the Mosbacher Takeaway articles; an Award of Excellence for the creation of a development brochure, Legacy; and an Award of Merit for the communications work performed in support of the National Security and Women’s Insecurity Conference last fall.

The Houston IABC Bronze Quill Awards recognize the efforts of Houston area communicators including public relations and communication professionals from Fortune 500 Companies, government agencies, nonprofits, and institutions of higher education. Other award winners included BP, Phillips 66, University of Houston, Texas Children’s Hospital, and University of Houston Medical Branch, among others. Bronze Quill awards are judged by a panel of some of the top communicators in their fields.

Earlier in the year, the office received a Gold Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Southwest District IV—the highest honor in the institutional relations program category. The award was given for the communications office’s role in promoting and disseminating the Mosbacher Takeaway articles.

The Bronze Quill Awards were given at a ceremony hosted at the Junior League of Houston this past summer.
