Natural disasters or conflicts around the world have increased the need to assist those whose lives have been disrupted or, in many cases, destroyed. Eighteen students at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University will now be aiding that effort as they design and prepare proposals for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to improve programs and help the organization apply for much-needed grants to support its work.

A recently established program in the Department of International Affairs at the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University which focuses on the links between the status of women and peace and security has received a $100,000 from the Compton Foundation.

A partnership between the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University and AmeriCorps has brought a record breaking number of AmeriCorps alumni to the School.

Among the many advantages of having a major public affairs graduate program at Texas A&M University is the opportunity for faculty from the Bush School of Government and Public Service to interact with their colleagues across the Texas A&M System in research efforts.

The Bush School of Government and Public Service is proud to welcome a record-setting 176 in-residence students to their international affairs and public service and administration programs this fall. The Class of 2018 represents 113 universities, 18 countries, and over 65 different concentrations.

Students in the Master of International Affairs program at the Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M University,  recently had a unique opportunity to visit Germany and meet with high-ranking German foreign policy makers and academics. The fourteen-day program was led by Dr. Gabriela Marin Thornton and included stops in Berlin and Dresden.

Professor Ann Bowman received the Daniel Elazar Distinguished Scholar Award from the Federalism and Intergovernmental Relations section of the American Political Science Association (APSA) on September 2, 2016.


July 22, 2016

With financial support from the dean’s office, the Department of International Affairs, the Department of Public Service and Administration, and the Mosbacher and Scowcroft Institutes, Bush School students are expanding their classroom experience by serving as interns and immersing themselves in foreign languages this summer.

The first class of students enrolled in the Bush School’s newly launched Executive Master of Public Service and Administration program (EMPSA) recently began classes.


July 06, 2016

The Master of Public Service and Administration (MPSA) degree at the Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M University, was recently named the “Best Value” in the nation by Value Colleges. The rankings were based on the average starting salary of graduates, the annual cost of attendance, and the 2016 MPA ranking from US News & World Report.
