The Honorable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board of Canada, will discuss the modernization of the Canadian government on September 18, 2014, at the Bush Presidential Library and Museum on the campus of Texas A&M University.

Texas A&M Bush School Dean Ryan Crocker was a logical choice to take part in the PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® program (PTB), which helps educate and support women entrepreneurs across the globe.


June 27, 2014

On June 17-18, the Bush School’s Certificate in Homeland Security program and the Emergency Services Training Institute in the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) co-sponsored a Homeland Security Seminar, the first such joint effort at Texas A&M University.


May 12, 2014

On May 8, graduate certificates were awarded to Bush School students who completed a certificate program. The ceremony was held in the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library’s Orientation Theater.

Some 115 students earned certificates during the summer and fall of 2013 and the spring of 2014 semesters.

On Saturday, May 10, the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University will reach another landmark as its 1,038th graduate crosses the stage in Reed Arena.  Less than twenty years since its founding, the School has grown dramatically.

Students at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University both assisted with the celebration and represented the School at the 25th anniversary of the inauguration of the president.  The event was held April 4-6 at the George Bush Presidential Library and the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center on the Texas A&M University campus.

Once again, the Bush School’s Nonprofit Management Forum has garnered praise from participating staff, board members, volunteers, and students. This year’s event on April 4 at the Annenberg Conference Center brought together academic researchers, consultants, industry professionals, and aspiring leaders in a program geared toward improving the effectiveness of nonprofits.

The end of the spring semester saw Bush School students recognized for their extra efforts in leadership and writing development.  On April 22, Dean Crocker, along with Professors Joe Cerami, Larry Napper, and Bill West; lecturer Sally Dee Wade; and leadership and writing portfolio program assistants, Holly Kasperbauer and Kara Socol, presented awards for the Writing Portfolio Project and the Dean’s Certificate in Leadership.

The shortage of talented and effective leaders in the rapidly expanding nonprofit sector is a growing concern among practitioners as well as academic researchers.  The Bush School’s Emerging Leaders Program is helping to meet that need with an annual conference designed for professionals working in the nonprofit sector, education, or state and local government who want to improve their leadership skills.

Two leading experts on the federal debt crisis spoke at the Bush School at the end of January. Alan K. Simpson, former US senator from Wyoming, and Erskine B. Bowles, White House chief of staff under President Bill Clinton, gave the ConocoPhillips White House Lecture, one of a series hosted by the Bush School’s Mosbacher Institute for Trade, Economics, and Public Policy.
