Cerami Invited to CFR Educators Workshop

Dr. Cerami was invited to attend the inaugural “Educators Workshop” hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations, in New York City, on April 26-27, 2012.  The CFR President, Dr. Richard Haass, discussed his plans for a new CFR video series, improved web site, and foreign policymaking simulation project (A “Model National Security Council”).  Gideon Rose, the Editor of Foreign Affairs and Senior CFR Fellows, including Isobel Coleman, Seven Cook, Meghan O’Sullivan and Max Boot, also participated.  CFR stressed their outreach programs, including research and classroom materials available on line, such as, Crisis Guides, Interactive Timelines, Policy Backgrounders, Teaching Notes/Academic Modules, Educators Bulletin and Expert Interviews on current events – all available on their web page CFR.org.  CFR also highlighted their subscription discounts for faculty and students; student research paper contest; their new, on line archive collections; and ongoing academic conference calls for students to interact with their Senior Fellows on research trips, reports, and current events.  The CFR Vice President for National Programs Outreach, Irina Faskianos, will continue to build relations with university educators, schools of public and international affairs;  and professional associations, such as the International Studies Association.
