Professor Robinson Reviews Prominent New Book in Public Administration
The most recent issue of Administrative Theory and Praxis includes a review of Ricucci’s “Public Administration: Traditions of Inquiry and Philosophies of Knowledge” by MPSA Associate Professor Dr. Scott Robinson. This text, winner of the Best Book of 2012 award from the Research section of the American Society of Public Administration, argues that public administration research should draw from a variety of research strategies including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches. Dr. Robinson praises the intent behind the book but argues that the text understates the challenges to integrating research across different strategies and provides an unbalanced view current research.
