Introducing Our Bush School Admissions Blog

November 12, 2014

Procrastination. It’s a word we hate to admit that gets the best of us, but it does. And although I’m guilty of it in many areas, one of the worst has been in starting an Admissions Blog. I was asked to contribute a blog that offered admissions insight for a popular organization in our field many years ago, but I just never got around to it. In a busy fall schedule of travel, emails, and marketing, time flies by. Then admissions processing starts, interviews kick in, decisions are made, classes are formed, and suddenly, you’ve gone full cycle and start the whole thing over again. Trust me, I’ve thought of the lost opportunities many times, but quite frankly didn’t really know where or when to start. But the time has come to push away the excuses and just do it. There’s no better time than now. I’m undertaking this effort—for better or worse—and I believe what I and others have to offer will be worth your time to read. So, with a little fan-fare (Whoop!) here we are introducing our inaugural Bush School Admissions Blog.

The blog will offer commentary about the graduate admissions process and will offer advice and insights. We will have both staff and students covering topics of interest to YOU, in in the hopes of helping you learn more about what you should think about when applying, how to research programs, how to finance your education, what to expect during your schooling and after, and much, much more. But we’ll also cover a little about US, as you’ll want to know more about our thoughts and advice, as graduate school is about relationship building and networking too. We have a sense of family here at Texas A&M, so get to know us and you can better decide if this is a place where you feel connected and challenged.

So stay tuned. We have some great posts coming. After all, we have a lot of ground to cover in just a few short months before the application is due. That’s January 20, 2015 in case you were wondering.
