Mentor Programs

Another facet of the Bush School's collaborative learning experience is the extensive use of mentors to enhance students' academic knowledge and professional development. Mentors may be faculty, alumni, visitors and speakers, or fellow students.

Speakers/Visitors as Mentors

Leaders from both the public and private sectors who come to the Bush School also are usually willing to mentor students in some form. The Public Service Leadership Program and the Student Government Association's Speaker and Leadership Development Committee help facilitate these informal networks. The "Conversations in Leadership" program is a particularly unique opportunity for students to seek out mentoring assistance with noted leaders.

Peer Mentoring

The Student Government Association facilitates mentoring among Bush School students by matching second-year master's students with those entering their first year. The mentors not only provide invaluable guidance to the newer students, they are also able to offer academic support if needed. Contact SGA at email if you would like to volunteer as a mentor or find out more.
