Current Giving Opportunities
The Bush School has several current giving opportunities to ensure its continued success.
Student Scholarships/Fellowships
The Bush School understands that students seeking a career in government or public service have numerous options. Those who choose the George Bush School are among the best and the brightest, and have demonstrated both the potential for leadership and great responsibility as well as a genuine desire to serve others. One factor that influences students' selection of the Bush School is the financial aid package. The goal is to provide each student with either a full or partial scholarship, depending upon the class size and the funding available. Scholarship recipients are chosen from all those accepted into the Bush School based on their academic performance, leadership potential, and commitment to serving in the public, nonprofit, or private sectors domestically or internationally. The ability to recruit the very best students can often depend on the School's ability to provide students with as much scholarship support as possible. Your gift can help us recruit the leaders of tomorrow.
Endowed Professorships and Chairs
The academic reputation of any institution depends in large measure on the quality of its faculty. Bush School faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized experts in their academic fields and many have real-world experience in public and international affairs. Widely recognized as dedicated teachers, the School's faculty combine their specialized knowledge and expertise with innovative teaching methods that enrich and broaden students' academic experience. State funds provide basic salaries for faculty, but only private support allows the Bush School to recruit and recognize its most deserving faculty. A key goal of the School's capital campaign is to have most of its faculty positions privately endowed. These endowments fund special classroom projects, equipment, professional development, and research initiatives.
Summer Internships
The Bush School encourages its students to take part in summer internships to gain professional public service and/or international affairs work experience after completing their first year of graduate school. Our students are well prepared for a substantial, challenging internship. By sponsoring an internship, you help students gain essential real-world experience that will serve them well later in their careers.
If your company or organization would like to sponsor an internship, you will also identify outstanding potential employees before committing to a full-time hire as well as contribute to the education of future public servants.
