Adjunct Faculty
Nirmal Goswami joined the Bush School as an adjunct member of the faculty in 2005. A professor of political science at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Goswami teaches in the MPIA program. He earned his B.A. in economics from the University of Gauhati, India, and an M.A. in political science from the University of Delhi, India, where he studied comparative politics and international relations. After moving to the United States, Goswami earned another master's degree in urban studies-urban planning from the University of Akron, and a Ph.D. in public and urban administration from the School of Urban and Public Affairs, University of Texas at Arlington. At the Bush School, Goswami co-teaches international field seminars on the economy and politics of India with Professor Kishore Gawande. He has conducted research and made teaching presentations at universities in Britain, India, Mexico, Singapore, and Australia. Goswami's research publications have been in the areas of American minority politics and local government, international economics, and budgeting.
